After graduating from Guy's in 1993, Alex completed 3 years of dental and surgical training before specialising in Orthodontics in 1997. He undertook his Specialist Orthodontic Training in the centres at Guy's, Kingston and East Grinstead presenting a biomaterials thesis as part of his Masters in 2000. This and subsequent research has been published in the international scientificpress.
Alex was appointed Consultant Orthodontist at Guy's and the QVH in 2003 where he trains, teaches, researches and is active in orthodontic politics representing the specialty locally and nationally. He is on the organising committee for the World Orthodontic Congress to be held in London in 2015 and regularly organises and participates in courses and conferences and has lectured both nationally and internationally.
In the hospital Alex's areas of specialist clinical interest are in the management of complex facial anomalies including cleft lip and
palate and jaw disproportion where he works closely with his Maxillofacial and Plastic surgery colleagues.
In the practice he works in partnership with his colleagues and local specialists. He has up-to-date knowledge and practical skills in using aesthetic and invisible contemporary orthodontic systems to enhance smiles and improve dental function. Outside of work Alex enjoys spending time with his wife and two young boys and loves exploring the Sussex countryside on foot or bikes with them.
