Javier Calvo obtained his bachelor in dentistry from the University of Barcelona (UB) in 1999.
After two years working in general practice he joined the Periodontology department at the International University of Catalunya (UIC) where he completed a postgraduate programme in periodontics achieving an MSc in Periodontology in 2003.
Since then Javier has worked part-time at the International University of Catalunya (UIC) as a clinical lecturer and in private practice limited to periodontics and implants until his recent move to London in January this year.
He also has attended many national and international periodontal congresses and has dictated some national courses and conferences. He is member of the Spanish Society of Periodontology and the European Federation of Periodontology.
He performs all treatments that involve management of structures that support the teeth, including soft and hard tissues, e.g mucogingival surgery, guided tissue regeneration and bone grafting. Also he performs the placement of implants and its subsequent suprastructures.
Currently he is working as a periodontist in several practices around South-East England and he is going to start to collaborate with King’s College of London as a clinical teacher in the department of Periodontology.
