On the 6th of May this year, Jas will again be travelling to Morocco as part of the Dental Mavericks Charity  which he co-founded in 2010. This time, though, he will be making his way to the Atlas mountains to help care for the children at the Eve Branson (Richard’s mum) Foundation.

“This is really exciting for us. Being invited to work with the Eve Branson Foundation means that our charity is becoming recognised and trusted within the Berber community.”

What is the Eve Branson Foundation?
The mission of the Eve Branson Foundation is to improve the lives of women and young girls in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco through access to business, education and health care. The Foundation provides them with educational opportunities, vocational training, work space, tools and other necessary resources to create marketable goods. As a result, these women and young girls have the possibility of becoming economically self sufficient and able to generate income to support themselves and their families.

As part of the trip, Jas will also be fundraising by trying to climb to the top of Mount Toubkal. Which, at 4,167 metres, is the highest peak in the Atlas Mountains.

“Our goal is to raise  £10,000  to fund a purpose-built dental clinic in the remote areas around Chefchouen . But, to really make a difference, we need to be able to look after these children all year round. And not just when we visit once or twice a year.

Having our own dental clinic in the area will allow us to continue with our “Teeth For Life” programme. We can then provide proper oral hygiene advice to all members of the Berber community and look towards preventing rather than just curing dental disease.

In time, it could easily cater for over 1000 children every year.

No more pain. Imagine that.”
